# Google Calendar booking

> Book appointments on Google Calendar instead of an EHR.

Settings → **Automations** → **Google Calendar** → **Connect**. Allow the popup, sign in to the Google account that can see every provider's calendar, and grant access.

## The Google Calendar dialog

| Setting | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Calendar to use** | The calendar to book into. Becomes **Fallback calendar** once you add providers. |
| **Providers** | One row per doctor: their own calendar, specialty, a one-line blurb, optional custom working hours. The AI asks which provider the caller wants. |
| **Appointment types** | Name, duration, buffer. |
| **Working hours** | Per day. |
| **Booking rules** | **Min notice**, **Max advance (days)**, **Allow double-booking** (keep off), and **External busy calendars**. |

<Tip>
  **External busy calendars** takes iCal feed URLs, one per line. Times booked in another system are read live before every offer, so they are never double-offered. Only busy times are read; event details stay private.
</Tip>

## Two things to know

<Warning>
  Calendars you have **subscribed to** (imported, read-only) cannot be booked into. The AI needs a calendar the connected account can write to. Add the subscribed one as an external busy calendar instead.
</Warning>

<Info>
  Your Google calendar's timezone is treated as the source of truth. Make sure it matches the practice.
