# Review and use the note

> Editing, the AI Editor, codes, export, and pushing to your EHR.

Open a session from **Record** (past sessions) or from **View Past Sessions** on the patient page. The note screen has a **Note** tab and a **Transcript** tab.

## Actions on the note

| Button | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Edit** → **Save** / **Cancel** | Manual edits, section by section. |
| **AI Editor** | Chat sidebar. Describe a change and review the proposed diff before accepting. |
| **⋯ More Options** | **Copy All**, **Regenerate Note**, **Export as TXT / PDF / DOCX**, **Send to Email**. |
| **Generate Note** / **Generate Document** | Create an additional note or document from the same visit with a different template, such as a referral letter or patient summary. |
| **Push to EHR** | Sends the note to your connected EHR. See [Chrome extension and EHR push](/guides/scribe/chrome-extension). |
| **ICD-10 Diagnostic Codes** / **CPT Procedure Codes** | Suggested codes panel. Toggle between the two and copy what you need. |

## The AI Editor

Ask for one change at a time: "tighten the HPI", "add that the patient denies chest pain", "use the patient's name". Quick skills are one click away: **Tighten language**, **Simplify**, **Use patient name**, **Align ICD-10**, **Align CPT**, **Differential prompts**, **Red flags**, **Patient handout**.

<Tip>
  After accepting an edit that touches the Plan or medications, glance at that section to confirm it landed. If the editor stops responding, reload the page and start a new conversation.
</Tip>

## The note quality banner

Sometimes a note shows "Review this note carefully". That is HealOS flagging possible mismatches between the note and the transcript. It is a prompt to review, not an error.

## Signing

HealOS has no separate "sign" step. The note is ready when you have reviewed it. To include your signature on PDF and DOCX exports, upload it under Account Settings → **Signature** and turn on **Include in exports**.

## Deleting and restoring

Deleted sessions go to **Deleted Notes** (the Recycle Bin), where they can be restored or removed permanently.
