# Setup checklist

> Everything to do once before the first real patient. Most practices finish in 15 minutes.

  <Step title="Create the account">
    Go to **app.healos.ai** and choose **Sign up**. Sign up with **Google**, **Apple**, or **email**.

    <Info>Phone-number sign-up is not offered. You verify your phone in the next step. Phone sign-in works later for accounts that already have a verified phone.</Info>

  <Step title="Complete your profile">
    On the "Hello, welcome to HealOS" screen enter your **Specialty**, **First name**, **Last name**, and **Title** (MD, NP, and so on).

    <Tip>Specialty shapes every note. If your sub-specialty is not listed, choose **Other** and type it, for example "Hand Surgery".</Tip>

  <Step title="Verify your phone">
    Enter your number and the 6-digit SMS code. It can take up to a minute to arrive.

  <Step title="Tell us about the practice">
    On "Tailor your experience", pick the number of clinicians and answer **What is your EHR?** Choose "I don't use an EHR" or "Other" if yours is not listed.

  <Step title="Create or join the practice">
    Enter the **Practice name** and add colleague emails. If you were invited, you will see **"You've been invited"** instead. Click **Accept**.

  <Step title="Set your defaults">
    Open **Account Settings** from the sidebar and set at least:

    * **Transcript Language**: the language spoken in your visits
    * **Default Template**: New Patient Visit or Follow-Up Patient Visit to begin with
    * **Default AI Model**: Detailed unless you are high volume

  <Step title="Install the Chrome extension (if you chart in a web EHR)">
    Sidebar → **Chrome Extension** → **Get Healos.ai Chrome Extension**. Sign in on the HealOS website first; the extension unlocks automatically. Details on the [Chrome extension](/guides/scribe/chrome-extension) page.

  <Step title="Install the mobile app (optional)">
    Same login on iOS or Android. Sessions recorded on the phone appear on the web.

## Adding team members

Admins add people from the organization settings. Invitees receive an email with an **Accept** link.

<Warning>
  If a team member signs in and sees a screen saying a product "isn't enabled for your account", the practice admin has not granted them access to that product yet. If you are the admin and cannot see the option, contact support.
